Things change! You or the freelancer may need to cancel the gig. In some cases this can have consequences. There are a number of different options for cancelling a gig:

Within the cancellation period | You and the freelancer can cancel the gig without any consequences within the cancellation periods stated below. You can choose the ideal cancellation period when posting the gig.

  • 24 hours

  • 48 hours

  • 72 hours

  • 1 week

  • 2 weeks

Freelancers can see the chosen cancellation period in the description of the gig. You can match with a reacted freelancer right up until the gig start time. Freelancers know to be wary of this cancellation period and withdraw their reaction if they are no longer available or interested.

The cancellation period has expired | If the cancellation period has expired, you and the freelancer can no longer cancel the gig without consequences. You should contact matched freelancers to give them an opportunity to react to other gigs. If appropriate, your business is expected to offer the freelancer a future replacement gig.

If you cancel the gig on the platform, or they are unable to work a replacement gig, the freelancer is entitled to claim 50% of the agreed hours.

If you do not cancel the gig on the platform and they arrive at the gig, the freelancer is entitled to claim 100% of the agreed hours.

You can approve or decline the claim in 'check hours'.

Important! Claims are automatically approved after 7 days.

If the freelancer cancels their match after the cancellation period has expired, they are obliged to arrange a replacement. They should contact your business to mutually agree to the replacement. If the freelancer can no longer work the gig and does not arrange a replacement, it should be reported as  'gig not completed'
